After graduating in 2005 with a BS in Computer Science, I was hired by a coal research and consulting company, Hill & Associates, as a Research Associate. During my time with Hill & Associates, I was able to begin applying my Computer Science skills to a real world environment.

I enjoyed the challenge of advancing the company from a technological perspective at every opportunity by creating database interfaces, analysis tools, task automation, developing models, etc. When it became apparent that the skills I was providing were necessary for the company to move forward, I began to shift my focus from research to technology.

When Wood Mackenzie acquired Hill & Associates in 2007, I was presented with the opportunity to "pick my path" and I chose to go purely Technology. I now work within the Business Systems team and have been very pleased with my decision. The team is diversely skilled with each bringing something unique to the table which has provided me with a great learning environment.

In just a short amount of time I have worked with many different people, projects and technologies which have kept things interesting and me on my toes. Some of the technologies I have been exposed to here are VBA, Microsoft Reporting Services, PL/SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and Office Writer, Windows Communication Foundation, and C#. I enjoy my position here at Wood Mackenzie because I am able to work on projects related to many different aspects of the company and learn bits about the business along the way. With Wood Mackenzie, I am happy with what I see as I look forward to the future.
