I joined Wood Mackenzie in 2007 as the Financial Controller for the Asia and Middle East region. Prior to this, I was the Financial Controller for an environmental engineering company. I was then based in Belgium, looking after its financial operations in Europe and Americas. The stint exposed me to various accounting and tax treatments in the different jurisdictions.
I derive great motivation from my role in Wood Mackenzie as I would need to ensure that the back end operations run smoothly to ensure the other parts of the organization are able to contribute their best. My remit covers statutory and tax compliance, cash management, cost control and analysis for our various offices in the region. The exceptional growth of the company has also made the role extremely interesting as we set up new offices in the region. It is also satisfying to be able to mould the processes that make the financial operations for the region more efficient.

This is very much reflected in the work balance culture as well as consultative culture that is evident in the organisation.
