"I have enjoyed the switch from coal to oil & gas and the challenges that accompanied the move."

Following my graduation from university with a Bachelor of Commerce I travelled extensively, taking a variety of jobs including a year as an English teacher in Taiwan, a stint as a deckhand on a luxury yacht in Mallorca and the south of England and a very brief attempt at being a rouseabout on a sheep station in outback Australia. I moved to Sydney and after seven years working in the funds management industry for Challenger and then Aurora Funds Management I joined Barlow Jonker.

While with BJ I worked on developing online content, client management, coal price and production indices and data analysis for the Australian coal export industry. Following the merger of BJ with WoodMac I took the opportunity to return to my home town of Perth to join the Upstream Australasia team.

I have enjoyed the switch from coal to oil & gas and the challenges that accompanied the move. With the increased emphasis on Coal Seam Gas in Australia and around the world I am finding my coal experience with BJ more and more relevant to my current role.

My move back to Perth has been very enjoyable and I am rediscovering the pleasures of living in a city that has so many outdoor activities such as sailing, fishing, windsurfing and snorkeling right on my doorstep.
