"The varied work allowed me to progress quickly, though at a pace I was comfortable with."
I joined Wood Mackenzie in January 2006 as a Consultant in the downstream team, focused on the global refining industry.
I started by contributing to our Global Products Outlook research product and to various bespoke consultancy assignments. The varied work allowed me to progress quickly, though at a pace I was comfortable with. I began taking more significant roles in project execution, then took on the extra responsibility by managing small projects. In 2007 I was promoted to Managing Consultant. This brought increased responsibility; managing larger projects and increasing interaction with our clients.
Working with blue-chip organisations including IOCs, NOCs, investment banks my projects are varied but tend to include market analysis, feasibility studies, project finance and transaction support.
My background is in Chemical Engineering, graduating from Strathclyde University in Glasgow in 2001. Before joining WoodMac I worked as a Process Support Engineer for ExxonMobil on a petrochemical plant in Fife, Scotland.
