"Wood Mackenzie offers the chance to work within an ever-changing and exciting industry for a company that is highly respected by clients and peers across the board."
I joined Wood Mackenzie in 2001 with a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Petroleum Geology. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie I worked for Schlumberger Geoquest where I trained on reservoir modeling and seismic interpretation software. I also spent a year working with the Challenger Division for Sea Floor Processes in Southampton Oceanography Centre where I was part of a team mapping the Mid Atlantic Ridge with Side Scan Sonar and Bathymetry data.
Since joining Wood Mackenzie I have had two very different roles. I started by working on the set up of a new region, North American Frontier Service, where I subsequently spent 3 years working as an analyst. This was a great learning opportunity seeing from the bottom up exactly how the research is gathered and the processes that go into producing the analysis and services. I moved to the client training and development role in 2003 and have recently completed a fast track in training certificate to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
For me Wood Mackenzie offers the chance to work within an ever changing and exciting industry for a company that is highly respected by clients and peers across the board. I get to interact with clients from all over the world from various sectors on a daily basis and this in turn means my role is anything but boring.
As for my future I want to continue in my current role, expanding relationships with key clients and colleagues across the globe. Going forward I am working alongside the rest of the team to ensure that the training team is a highly valued part of the company with a proven track record in preparing, delivering and evaluating high quality product training.
