My role as a client manager for China started in Feb 2009. Prior to this role, I worked at JP Morgan China Investment Banking and a private commodity-trading fund. The development along these roles is my interest and experience in energy industry.
Wood Mackenzie is a small company with strong culture. I am very impressed about how much WoodMac people value integrity, quality, teamwork and communication. And I am soon convinced that it is such culture that makes the company continuously thriving over the years. As a client manager, a very frontier role dealing with clients and prospects day in and day out, I am engaged in both existing business retention and new business development activities. Wood Mackenzie culture helps grow me into a reliable, credible and knowledgeable professional. As I make success in growing business, I also become personal friends with many of my clients, which is very exciting.
An important part of my role is to discern new business needs and communicate back client’s feedback on our products. Doing this job demands seamless teamwork with other internal functions. I really enjoy the process as I have many opportunities to be creative and to assume leadership cross teams and responsibilities. It is always pleasant to see new products developed by joint efforts and better business performance achieved by our clients.
Everyday is just like my first day at WoodMac. My calendar is always filled up with new ideas, new business campaigns and new contacts. My short-term goal is to expand Chinese client base to accommodate more metal and coal research. As the industry progress towards more environmental friendly, I am keeping a close eye on new energy, low-carbon resources and I am sure that will be many revolutionary opportunities waiting for me and for the company to pursue.
